Energizing Tourism, Empowering Communities.
A new light now shines over Quirino as the Skyline View Deck officially comes alive through its energization and lighting ceremony, another proud milestone made possible through the efforts of Ilocos Sur Electric Cooperative.
Our heartfelt thanks go to ISECO Board Vice President, District IX – Dir. Myrna Irene D. Soriano, whose strong support and vision helped bring light to Quirino, and to General Manager Ms. Lawrence A. Severo, together with all ISECO personnel and management, for making this project a reality.
The ceremony was graced by Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member, Hon. Benjamin N. Maggay, who shared the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur’s Tourism Development Plan highlighting three key destinations: the Spanish Trail of San Emilio, the Skyline of Quirino, and the Kankantuban of Del Pilar. This event marks a meaningful first step toward turning these plans into reality. In his message, he also left a striking reminder: “Success attracts enemies, progress invites jealousy.” A call for unity, patience, and mutual support among neighboring communities instead of envy. We should unite as one IP Community.
Inspiring messages were also shared by Mayors Hon. Rogelio B. Bicasan Jr. of Gregorio Del Pilar and Atty. Mary Joyce Maggay of Cervantes, encouraging everyone to continue working together for shared progress.
Municipal Mayor Atty. Jemarose Gomintong reflected on Quirino’s journey, from its first energization through MOPRECO, led by former Mayor Elmer Gomintong, to this present milestone. Today, another Gomintong leads the town in witnessing a new chapter of development. She emphasized that this achievement is a product of collective effort, from ISECO, neighboring municipalities (especially Gregorio Del Pilar who also extended their hands), and the community itself, embodying the true spirit of “binnadang” or bayanihan.
Hon. Vice Mayor Rodolfo A. Aciong, members of the Sanggunian Bayan and LGU employees were also present to witness this remarkable milestone of the Municipality.
This lighting ceremony is more than just illumination, it symbolizes hope, progress, and a brighter future. A milestone that will boost Quirino’s tourism, strengthen its economy, and showcase the beauty of the municipality for years to come.
